Obscure government pension programs that could help you

In this article from the Globe and Mail, Ted Rechtshaffen goes into detail about some government pension programs that are available to the public but are not always collected (or even applied for) by seniors. I agree with the basic premise, i.e. that plenty of seniors haven't applied for programs because they aren't aware of them. I've certainly met many seniors who don't realize they could have extra income. Click here to read the article. This one is worth forwarding to older parents or grandparents, as it contains really useful details about the dollar amounts available and who qualifies to receive them.
