Posted by

Apparently this would put me in the majority, at least according to a recent study in the US. This article from a delightful blog called "Who moved my dentures? Retirement health, happiness require planning
Posted by
Lynne Butler, BA LLB
This article from the Globe and Mail discusses the fact that many people plan the financial part of their retirement, but don't really think beyond that. The article says that we have to think about what we are going to DO all day. I personally will have to put some real thought into this, as I can barely get through a two-day weekend without fidgeting. Retirement might be really awful if I don't think ahead. Is anyone else in the same boat? To read the article, click here.

Posted by
Lynne Butler, BA LLB
The face of retirement is changing and many people are working at "retirement" jobs after they retire. Click here to read the article. I expect that I'll work after I retire from the trust company, simply because there are so many more books I want to write, I'll have to live to be 100 to get them all done.

In this article, Jonathan Chevreau of the National Post weighs in on the impact of changing the retirement threshold in Canada from 65 to 67 (which is under discussion at present but not yet mandated). He compares the situation of the 'average Joes' - that being you and I, the working people - to that of politicians who can retire a good decade earlier than we can already.
