When to cut the inheritance cheque

Most people think of an inheritance as something they may receive from their parents after they have passed away. Giving some or all of an inheritance to a child while the parent is still alive has always been, theoretically at least, an option. Now that option is becoming more popular but it still needs to be looked at carefully before a parent goes ahead with it.
