I'll be on the panel at this presentation next month. I'm really excited to be part of this ground-breaking change in the law regarding guardianship of vulnerable seniors. Click here for more info.
I gather that this applies to Newfoundland and Labrador. Does each provence have it's own laws? Is there a source for Ontario (God's country-lol). Do you know which provence has the best laws regarding guardianship of vulnerable seniors? Webeye
That's right, it's for NL only. Yes, each province has its own. In Ontario, you have the Substitute Decisions Act. In my view, any province that recognizes that incapacity in seniors is not either "all there" or "all gone" is advanced. The idea is to give the amount of help that is needed and wanted, and not to impose a complete loss of autonomy on someone who can still manage some parts of independent living.
Lynne,
ReplyDeleteGood step forward.
