I'm attaching a link to a blog post by lawyer Elaine Blades. It contains the best explanation I've ever seen for the "survivorship clause" that should be found in properly drafted wills. I'm referring to the clause that says that a beneficiary must outlive the testator for a certain number of days in order to inherit. My clients often ask why I've included this clause in their wills, so I'm sure some of you readers are curious, too.
If you've ever wondered why that clause is needed in your will, click here and read all about it.
