Henson Trusts - advantages and disadvantages
Posted by

Parents of a disabled child may be familiar with an estate planning tool known as the Henson Trust. It's a type of trust that you may choose to create using your will to make provision for the future financial care of your disabled child. I've recently come across a really good discussion of Henson Trusts written by Ontario lawyer Ian Hull that I recommend to anyone who wants to know more about this useful, unique planning tool. Click here to read Mr. Hull's article. Though it specifically makes reference to Ontario, the principles apply to all provinces of Canada with the exception of Alberta.
