An interesting article from The Financial Post analyzes a new study from BMO that paints a much rosier picture of retirement than we are used to seeing. Statistically, about 50% of Canadians will inherit a lot more than was previously thought. It's never a good idea to count on an inheritance in advance to bail you out of financial difficulties. There is no guarantee that you'll receive anything, or that the amount you do inherit will be what you expected. However, there is no doubt that once you do receive an inheritance, it can take the pressure off your money situation.
