Are you betting on an inheritance to solve your money problems?

The Financial Post has recently published an interesting article about what it calls "waiters" - people who are living way beyond their means and counting on a future inheritance to solve their financial problems. Based on the discussions I have with parents on a daily basis, I find the "waiter" attitude really foolish. Plenty of parents tell me that they don't want to pass on their estates to their children because they've helped the kids enough already, or they want to leave funds to charity. Not to mention that an awful lot of parents have an estate that is significantly smaller than their kids think they have. The article is a good read, so click here if you'd like to have a look.
