I have some exciting news for those of you who want to learn more about how to be an executor, or about what an executor is supposed to do. I'm going to be teaching a new course at the College of the North Atlantic in St. John's, NL called "Executor Boot Camp". It's a full day (more than 6 hours) of in-person instruction, discussion and learning activities. It will be offered once in October 2013 and once in November 2013.
Keep an eye on the College's webpage in the next few weeks for info on the schedule, location and price. I'll post a link once it's up.
This course will be great for executors, future executors, people who work with executors, beneficiaries, and anyone who just wants to know more about it (maybe to decide who to appoint for your own will). Some of the topics we'll cover will be understanding the limits and limitations of the executor role, completing probate documents, valuing assets, producing an accounting, understanding the personal liability faced by an executor, and many others.
I hope to see some of you there.
