Understanding debt after death

I've come across an article in www.investmentexecutive.com that reports that 67% of Canadians don't understand what will happen with their debts after they pass away. I guess they didn't survey the readers of this blog, since regular readers here know that I often talk about situations involving debts that outlive their owners! All kidding aside, I applaud all readers for making the effort to understand what may happen with your own estates and your parents' estates when the time comes.
