6 tips for protecting a deceased person from identity theft

The job of an executor is much different now than it was 100 or 50 or even 20 years ago. As society and technology change, so does the list of tasks that an executor must complete. Here's a recent requirement that is growing in urgency - the need to prevent thieves from using the deceased's identity to open credit card accounts and obtain loans.

I can't imagine how upsetting it would be to start receiving collection letters or legal summonses aimed at a loved one who had passed away. And what a mess to clear up!
