Click on this link Unheralded Giving to read a story about how Johnny Carson was found to have given $150,000,000 to charity from his estate. While most of us don't have that kind of money to give away, I work with many, many clients who want to leave charitable gifts in their Wills. Some give a simple gift of cash; others set up foundations that give over many years. Of course I agree with the author of the article that unheralded giving is wonderful, but I also particularly like gifts, which are usually scholarships, that are set up to remember a particular person. Giving a charitable gift in your Will is easy to do, gives you a tax break, and feels great!
