Forum Magazine covers Death in the Digital Age

I'm pleased to advise that I'm one of the lawyers quoted in the November-December issue of Forum Magazine. The article is about digital assets and is called Death in the Digital Age. Forum Magazine is published by Advocis and is intended for professional financial advisors.

One of the things I talked about in the article was that many of my clients assume that they do not own digital assets. They think this even though they have a cell phone and an iPad and a laptop, and use those devices for banking, shopping, gaming, storing photos, and communicating. They have social media accounts, airmiles, a Paypal account, and online correspondence. There are very, very few people that have no digital footprint at all, though many people simply assume (wrongly, I might add) that theirs is insignificant. Make sure your will and your Enduring Power of Attorney deal with them. Check out the article by clicking here.
