To Kill a Mockingbird author victim of elder financial abuse

They say that most elder abuse is perpetrated by family members or close friends of the senior, and here is a story that unfortunately falls into that shameful description. Harper Lee, best-selling author of the classic book "To Kill a Mockingbird", has begun a lawsuit against her former literary agent and friend, Samuel Pinkus. She alleges he has helped himself to her royalties, which amount to about $1,500,000 a year, for the last five years. Ms. Lee is 95 years old, blind and wheelchair-bound.
