http://www.allaboutestates.ca/, has a new post that talks about what happens in Ontario when a husband passes away leaving his assets in such a way that his surviving wife doesn't have enough to live on. Specifically, it addresses how the wife (in this case, but could be the husband in other cases) can make an advantageous election under Ontario's
Family Law Act.
