Gore-Tex heiress can't adopt ex-husband to get more from trust

On the face of it, most of us would probably consider the chance to inherit billions of dollars as a good thing. But is it really that great when the anticipation of the inheritance overtakes your whole life and makes you do outrageous things to ensure that nobody gets more than you do? I read this attached story about a woman who adopted her 65-year-old ex-husband in order to get more money from an inheritance, and all I could think about was her life of greed and competition with her family. How sad. What do you think? Would you like to be in her shoes? Click here to read the story. In my view, the judge was right to rule that adopting the ex-husband did not entitle her to more from the inheritance. Adopting him was a direct attempt to get around the intention of the trust.
