Executor's fee slashed by court for mis-management of estate

Thanks to the folks at http://www.disinherited.com/ for the following summary of a recent BC case in which the court wouldn't allow an executor to have the fee she claimed. I like to post this type of article because they are real-life examples of what's going on out there and many of you will be able to relate the cases to your own situations. The case is called Re Stolarchuk Estate 2011 BCSC 1681.

Executors have a lot of power over an estate. That's necessary and logical. However, when executors mix up their own agenda with that of the estate, the beneficiaries at least have the power to object to the fee that is claimed, as you will see in this article.
