Who should preside over inquests - doctors or judges?

This article from http://www.lawtimesnews.com/ talks about two recent coroner's inquests in Ontario that have some people calling for a change. Right now, Ontario inquests are run by the coroner, who is a doctor. Some lawyers and others believe the hearings should be run by judges.
