On residents not wanting people dying in their neighbourhood

This is a really interesting story from the Vancouver Sun. An Asian neighbourhood in Vancouver is rallying against the placement of a hospice in their neighbourhood because they believe the proximity to dying people is bad luck. Click here to read the story.

I've seen protests against buildings such as drug rehab centres because locals believe the residents might be dangerous and also property values might be adversely affected. I've never seen a protest against the kind of facility that is generally thought to be beneficial.
